  Before you go into any business yon have to consider some basic factors, how is the company ran, how do they pay their worker, when do they pay their workers, and how much do they pay their workers, etc.
below are some basic things to consider before applying for affiliates

1.  methods of payment
     the method of payment in an affiliate program is very important, because you cant just imagine after making a huge sales, and at the end the method of payment available is either a gift card or a Paypal, for goodness sake what can a mature man looking for a mean to survive do with a gift card or is it Paypal mean of payment that is very difficult to get in Nigeria if even available,so the best method of payment for most African countries like Nigeria is through wireless transfer or bank deposit, try to read their privacy policies before signing up.

2.  amount or percentages payable
      the amount an affiliate company pay to their promoters varies depending on the company as i earlier mentioned, company like jumia and konga pay 11% on fashion and 3 to 5% on technology but companies like fxtm pay $250 for any successful signup and trading so be sure to find out about their payment before signing up.

3.  NICHE
      The niche which you blog about should determine the type of affiliate products to promote on your site or blog, you cant blog about fashion and you start promoting technologies or neither should you blog about health and you went on to promote fashion, this is totally wrong, if your niches is based on fashion go ahead to promote fashion product like the dresses, suits, shoes etc.

4.  DESCENT TRAFFIC
      Traffic is very important in any online business or online content be it blog online shops all needs traffic the same rules applied to affiliate, before you sign up for affiliate make sure your traffic is something that can be counted for because low or poor traffic can make you to go a long way making money from affiliate promotion.
